With ever increasing cost and demand for higher education, the importance of MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) is bound to grow. Sites such as Coursera, Edx, Udacity, Class2go offer hundreds of MOOCs from prestigious universities for free. It is now possible to get college credit for some MOOC classes.
However, most MOOCs either don’t offer their students any kind of certification or the certificates are not very credible. Some steps have been taken in this direction, eg., Coursera’s signature track and some Udacity courses qualifying for college credit but the vast majority of them don’t provide much credibility.
Recently, I came across accredible.com. It allows one to create his/her own MOOC certificate credible enough to put on a resume through identity verification and embedding all the work for a course onto a digital certificate so anyone can see it for themselves.
